Personal Information

Appearance

Nikogi's frame is one of near-perfect beauty. She stands at twenty-five feet tall, a vision in orichalcum with green jade accents portraying the bounty that the Elemental Pole of Wood had to offer. The detail of the green jade is so in depth that one would think that they could pluck the plant life off of it. She bears no weapons except a pair of ironwood khatars, kept at her side.

However, Nikogi requires a rather unique material for complete functionality; namely, living souls. The core of the warstrider, where the pilot rests, must be filled with an amber-colored substance which has been made by a rather horrifying and painful liquidification process. A number of beings - preferably mortals, although wood elementals will suffice in a pinch - are subjected to a device which vibrates their internal Essence in such a way to cause them to dissolve. Much to the horror of those who survived the first use of this device, the person's hun is at least partially trapped in this liquid, meaning that the victims could not pass on.

History

The royal warstrider known as Nigoki was the crowning achievement of one Yui Karana, a Twilight who ruled a kingdom deep in the East. Yui Karana was best known among her fellow Copper Spiders as a master of the Genesis craft. She invented a number of species during the High First Age, including a breed of spider which, when fed gemstones, would spin silk made from the gems themselves. Her biggest and most outlandish project, however, came as the Usurpation drew nearer, and she was more…liberal with her experiments.

Once Nigoki's construction was completed, Yui held a grand feast in honor of her; nearly all of Yui's subjects were there. As the gathering wound down, however, Yui activated a particularly nasty device that she had constructed just for the occasion that send vibrations of Essence through the air. Within moments, each and every mortal in the room (and the wood aspect Dragon-blooded) were reduced to an amber colored liquid, which was neatly collected in containers under the seats. Grinning madly, Yui had the liquid placed in the control chamber of the warstrider, filling it to the brim. The excess was placed in a specially prepared vat in the factory-cathedral.

This act above all others helped to spurn the local Dragon-Blooded towards the Usurpation. Yui put up a valiant fight, using Nikogi to take care of a good number of the Dragonlings. Before she could be killed by her former foot soldiers, however, she retreated into the factory-cathedral and activated the security measures. Both the Dragon-blooded forces and Yui Karana died that day, changed into the same amber liquid that filled Nikogi's central chamber.

Ever since, Nikogi has waited patiently inside the factory-cathedral, her only company the automata that have kept her in working order, waiting for Yui's reincarnation to return to claim her. The cathedral, however, is currently the one center of stability in a rather violent area of the Eastern Middlemarches, so this may take some time. However, this is a strange Age, and odder things have happened.
